David Oei soloed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic at age nine and has performed with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore Symphonies. He won the Concert Artists Guild, WQXR Young Artists, Young Musicians Foundation and Paul Ulanowsky Chamber Pianists competitions. He has performed with the Audubon Quartet, St. Luke's and Orpheus Chamber Ensembles and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Founding director of the Salon Chamber Soloists and a founding member of Aspen Soloists and The Intimate P.D.Q. Bach he is also currently a member of the Alaria Chamber Ensembles and the HD Duo with pianist Helene Jeanney. A former artist at Bargemusic and Chamber Music Northwest he has performed at various festivals including Caramoor, Sitka, Bard, Washington Square and Kuhmo. Television credits include Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts, CBS News Sunday Morning and the Today Show. He has recorded for Delos, ADDA, Vanguard, CRI, ACA, Pro Arte, Arabesque, Albany, Grenadilla, Prestissimo and New World Records. Longtime former faculty member of Summertrios, Bennington Chamber Music Conference, Hoff-Barthelson Music School and the Mannes College Of Music he's currently a faculty member of the Alaria Chamber Music Program. He is the director of the David Oei Classical Salon at STJV, a monthly chamber music series at St. John's in the Village. An Artist of the New York Classical Music Society he is the recipient of its 2017 Citation of Honor for his work with this chamber series. He was also recently appointed the NY Concert Director of the New York Classical Music Society.

Mama's boy except that he runs to Papa when he's cold, in trouble or needing a butt massage. This eccentric pit bull-greyhound was lovingly adopted from the NY Pet-I-Care adoption program in April, '00 and celebrated his 13th birthday on Valentine's Day '12.
